Our self-doubt and insecurity don’t reveal our humility; they mask our pride.

I love this quote by Sally Lloyd-Jones. You can find the full article here. (via joshlsullivan)

The love of animals. These two are precious. Bella (Sunshine Sole Girl) was getting all of the attention so Buddy ran over for some loving too. Watching them run around with the sheep never gets old for me.

Atmospheric Taste-Buds

I woke up at 5:45 stamattina to go to the farm. Excitement filled me so much that I couldn’t wait for zio e zia so I walked down to their house and they laughed as I approached the car (probably because I had an ambitious smile plastered across my face). We were on the farm by 6:15. The main purpose to go this morning was to see the fiori di zucchine bloom because in the afternoon they’re all curled up -hiding from the sun. The flowers are so beautiful… and they’ll be even more beautiful when they’re on my plate later today!

I helped zia collect the beans (which will also be beautiful when they’re on my plate), plant a few peppers, and water the other beans.

Most importantly… I ate my first tomato! Glorious! That tomato was probably the most delicious tomato I have ever eaten… and I planted it! Nothing can beat the satisfaction of knowing where your food comes from, especially when you’re eating it fresh on the farm! I also tried a fig, which I usually do not like, but I loved that too! The atmosphere has changed my taste-buds, I suppose.

Photos to come!
